Merry Christmas!

Hey Bloggers,
So, me keeping you updated over my Christmas break was an absolute fail. Sorry about that. I honestly was so busy over the break that being back at school has almost been more relaxing. And then I got disgustingly sick for almost a week. blek. Ok, so now to tell you all about everything.

The first exciting thing happened at the airport, actually exciting things happened in both airports. I was just chilling in the Toronto City airport waiting for my next flight, and it was literally like a movie. I looked up at the board to see if my flight was on time and then BAM 'cancelled', 'cancelled', 'cancelled'...etc. comes up. I was like OH NO. Thankfully it wasn't my flight! Some peoples flights got delayed for over 14 hours! There were people EVERYWHERE. They were even sleeping on the floor, using their carry-on bags as pillows. And then I had these crazy music majors sitting behind me talking about their trombones or something like that, it was quite eventful. Then when I got off of my last flight I was expecting just my mom to be there to pick me up, but when I got inside I had a whole posse! My second mom Shari was there along with my two besties from home, Tessa and Emma! I was the first one off of the plane so it was really awkward cause everyone was just staring at all of us because we were like squealing. Oh. well.

The next eventful thing was my lunch and UMEI date with Tessa and Emma. We went and had lunch at one of our favourite restaurants, and then went back to our high school. They weren't really doing anything since it was pretty much the last day before Christmas break. So, we got to just hangout with everyone, it was awesome to be able to see everyone after 3 months away.

I told my mom that she wasn't allowed to decorate the Christmas tree, or bake any cookies without me. She had to wait until I got home! So, she did. We were baking cookies until 2 in the morning one night. OMG. We literally had a bakery happening in our kitchen. We had to make a ton of cookies because that is what we gave people for Christmas this year. We put them on a little plate on which we wrote "You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them"- Desmond Tutu. Everyone loved them! So, all of the time and effort that was put into them made it all worth it.

Once Christmas Eve arrives there is no stopping until after Boxing Day for my mom and I. Christmas Eve I have to hit up 2 Christmases. First the Foulon's (my dads side) for supper, which was absolutely delicious! I don't get to see them to much so it's always nice to spend time with them. Then my mom picks me up and we head over to papa's house (her dad). At papa's house we eat more food, open presents, and just sit around and talk. There really weren't very many of us there this year. Our family is all dispersed all over the world so it is hard to get together.

HAHA. Funny story moment, well not so much funny as it is cute. My papa is 84 (or something like that) so obviously he isn't up to speed with all of the new technology. He calls computers "computin-things". So, I was sitting beside him and I wanted to show him pictures of my school so that he knew where I was and where I was living. Of course I didn't print the pictures I was just going to show him from my phone! He was so excited he held my phone and I showed him all of my pictures. He couldn't get over the fact that I had all of those pictures in the tiny little thing, and that I used absolutely no film. Hahaha. He's too cute.

On Christmas morning mom and I opened all of our presents and then headed back to Wallaceburg for Christmas dinner with her family. That was turkey dinner #2, and it was also scrumptious. Then we had to go back home and clean and get ready for Boxing Day because we had the Allard family Christmas. Boxing Day is wonderful because we still get to see everyone but we get to stay home and don't have to drive anywhere! Every other day we have to drive over an hour each way to get to where we are going. Our house smelled like turkey all day, and that was super wonderful. My mom named the turkey Tommy and he was 22 pounds (incase you care). My step-sister just moved back to Ontario from Halifax so her and her boyfriend were there for Christmas! It was super exciting to see them, and everyone else. We always take a family picture (family picture meaning our ACTUAL family but also our 'family' that we invite to our Christmas) this was the biggest picture in years!

My cat, coco, loves people but he doesn't usually like being around a massive group of loud people. So, I was surprised when I found him under the Christmas tree playing with Savannah. He was letting her put bows on his head and pet him and he just sat there looking pretty. It was super cute, and I'm so glad I got pictures of it!

Shari and Nate stayed over on Boxing Day night because the roads were bad, and because we missed them and wanted to hangout with them more. The next day we decided to go take pictures, because it had just snowed and it looked so pretty! I dug out my tripod, set up my new camera and we trucked it out into a trail at the conservation area near our house. We had so much fun just hanging out and goofing around! There are SOOOO many more pictures of this day you can check them out here, or here.

The rest of my break was kind of a blur, and by now I'm sure you are getting tired of reading this! So here it is in a nutshell:
- I got sick.
- Mom and I watched all 3 seasons of Make It or Break It (Fantastic show)!
- I spent New years with my mom, Tessa, and coco.
- I got to see Des and Callie. She is walking around everywhere now! OMG.
- We went shopping. No good sales. None what so ever.
- We planned and booked our flights and hotel for Reading Week.
- Got to have dinner with Mal

and I think that is pretty much it...

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, because even though mine was busy I couldn't have asked for anything better! Anything exciting happen with your families?!

I will leave you with my adorable Christmas kitty.

TOODLES
Cate :)
